Both. Every Serbian sentence is authored in Cyrillic and converted to Latin automatically, so the two are always the same text. The toggle in the header switches the whole site, including exercises and audio transcripts, and your choice is remembered.

The default is Latin, because that is what most learners meet first in Serbia. Switch to Cyrillic the moment you want the more official-looking half of the language.

That includes what you type back: every exercise accepts your answer in either script, so you never have to switch just to answer correctly.

Not to read. Grammar lessons, vocabulary, reading and listening are open to anyone, and the placement test can be taken without signing in. An account is what makes progress exist: XP, streaks, flashcard scheduling and test history all need somewhere to live. Creating one ends with a six-digit code we mail you: the address has to answer before the account exists, so nobody ever receives mail meant for somebody else.

If you take the placement test first and sign up afterwards, you can attach the result to your new account — the offer appears on the result screen.

The course is free: all grammar, all written exercises, reading, listening and writing tasks with instant checking, the placement test, which needs no account at all — and the whole of level A1, every unit of it end to end, its tests included.

Premium adds the graded tests from A2 on — every topic test and every level final above A1 — speaking practice, AI feedback on your writing, an unlimited flashcard deck, and the learning units above A1 together with the materials written for them. Speaking and the writing tutor stay Premium at every level, A1 included.

Premium is sold monthly or yearly. Both unlock exactly the same things — a year simply costs two months less than paying month by month, and renews once a year instead of twelve times. The prices are on the pricing page.

A unit is one theme at one level as a single path: the grammar topic first, then the words, then a series of guided lessons — usually one per piece of the grammar, then a dialogue, a text, writing and speaking about it, and finally the topic test for that grammar. A guided lesson is the short step — five to ten minutes on one screen: it opens with the piece of grammar it drills, then a few new words, sentences to put together, some questions, and a phrase or two you say after the recording, which nothing records or grades. It prepares you for the bigger materials of the unit rather than replacing them. Inside a unit nothing blocks you — you can work the steps in any order — and every graded step earns one to three stars, best result kept, so a retake can only improve it.

Browsing units is free: every path is visible to everyone, account or not, and with an account you can start any unit and walk its open steps. At A1 that is the whole unit: the first fifteen units of the level are free end to end, star and completion bonus included, and only the last five ask for a subscription — for their speaking and writing steps, which are metered services at every level. Above A1 the open steps are the grammar lesson, the word list and the unit’s first guided lesson, a free taster of the format; grammar always stays open. What Premium buys there is the rest of it: the remaining guided lessons, the text, the dialogue and the writing task written for that unit, which are not in the free catalogues, plus the bonus in experience points for finishing. Nothing was taken away to make room — everything already in the free catalogues is still there. Daily limits inside a step, such as the speaking allowance, work exactly as they do everywhere else: a unit never grants extra ones.

The units themselves are a chain: the first one of the course is open, and each next unit opens when you have finished the one before it — which means passing its topic test, the last step. A locked unit is not a paywall and offers you nothing to buy; no subscription finishes a unit for you. A unit you have already started stays open whatever the chain says, so you can never be shut out of work in progress.

Every test at A1 is free, and so is the placement test at any time, account or not. From A2 on the graded chain — the topic tests of each level and the level finals — comes with Premium. There is no daily allowance and no cooldown after a failure: with a subscription you take as many as you like, whenever you like.

A1 is free because the course is walked by passing tests: each unit opens the next one when you pass its checkpoint, so a free account that could not sit those could never leave the first unit. The whole first level is therefore open end to end, its final included — what it unlocks is A2, where the graded chain becomes part of the subscription. Anything you passed before is still passed, and the levels it unlocked stay unlocked.

Levels open in order, A1 to C2: you unlock the next one by passing the current level's final test. A1 is open from the start.

No subscription unlocks a level, which is why a locked level offers you nothing to buy. The one shortcut is the placement test: if it places you at B1, everything up to B1 opens at once.

The final test of a level opens only once you have passed every topic test of that same level. The level's own card at the end of the learning path counts down how many are left, and no subscription shortens that count either — the work is the way through.

That count is taken from the topic tests that exist today, so when we publish a new topic test for a level, that level's final closes again until you pass the new one — even if you had passed everything before. A level you have already unlocked stays unlocked; it is only the final itself that waits. We would rather say this plainly than freeze the requirements at whatever the course happened to contain on the day you passed.

Straight away, and as often as you like — there is no waiting period and no cap on attempts. Only your best result is kept, so a retake can never cost you anything.

Fifty questions in one sitting, drawn from a larger pool and spread across the levels so that the estimate has a ladder to stand on. There is no pass or fail: the result is an estimated CEFR level, and it opens the level chain up to that point.

You can take it without an account. The estimate is a starting point, not a certificate.

Fifty in the deck on the free tier. That is a limit on what the review scheduler carries for you, not on the material: the whole vocabulary catalogue stays open, and you can swap cards out as you learn them.

Adding a list that would overflow the deck fills it to the limit and tells you how many were left out, rather than refusing the whole list.

Experience points are counted from Thursday 00:00 UTC to the next Thursday 00:00 UTC. When the week closes, the top ten take gold, places 11–20 silver and 21–30 bronze, and every medalist climbs one league step.

Taking part is free and automatic — there is nothing to join and nothing to buy. League steps only ever go up, so a quiet week costs you nothing; the weekly count starts over while your total XP, badges and streak stay as they are.

Your level is worked out from your total experience points — it is not a second score and nothing ever spends it. Each level costs a little more than the last, so the bar in the header fills, empties and starts again while the total underneath it only grows. Levels have no ceiling, and each band carries a Serbian title, from Почетник at the start to Академик far along. All of it is free: no subscription changes your level, and no level unlocks a lesson, a test or a feature.

Every new level also banks a streak freeze, up to two at a time. If you miss a day, a freeze is spent automatically and your streak carries on — you do not have to do anything, and there is nothing to activate. A frozen day is still a day you did not practise: it earns no experience points, it does not meet your daily goal and it stays empty on your activity calendar. Only the streak count survives. Miss more days than you have freezes for, and the streak starts again at one.

From your subscription page, which opens the payment provider's portal. Cancelling stops the next charge; Premium features stay available until the end of the period you have already paid for.

No. Your audio is transcribed, graded and discarded inside the request — nothing is written to storage, and there is no recording to play back or delete later. Only the score and the word-by-word comparison are saved.

Those per-word verdicts compare what you said against the target text. They are not phoneme-level pronunciation scoring, and we do not claim otherwise.

English, Russian and Serbian. Explanations, comparisons and error messages follow the interface language; the Serbian being taught is always shown in the script you chose. The two settings are independent of each other.

Partly. The site installs as an app and caches lessons you have already opened, so reading works on a plane. Anything that grades — exercises, tests, writing and speaking checks — needs a connection, because answer keys are never sent to the browser.

From Settings → Delete account, on the web and in the app alike. You confirm by typing your account's email address, and the account is erased in that same request — progress, XP, streak, flashcards, test history and badges go with it, and there is no undo.

If you cannot sign in, write to us from the address the account uses. A live subscription is cancelled before the account goes; the paid period is not refunded, so cancel and use it up instead if you would rather not lose it.
